~ Never send a picture of yourself or a family member to anyone online without permission from a parent.

~ Never arrange to meet another web user face to face, or speak on the phone without permission from a parent.

~ Never respond to messages that are threatening or make you feel uncomfortable in any way. Tell a parent.

Educate yourself on Facebook and other social websites and networks before joining them. Make sure to have the appropriate settings that will protect you, protect your identity and also protect the information that you might share with others. Remember, you post it, it is permanent. Just think before you type and make sure that you have typed your message correctly. You are responsible for your own postings.  Individuals who can read your posts will be able to define your character which could and probably will affect your future.  Questions?  Ask an adult, your teacher or even your Mom and Dad.
