Second Annual Scarecrow Festival Enjoyed! With the weather turning cold and snowy, the Scarecrow contestants were good sports about staying in the game! Over thirty Scarecrow entries were received for the Second Annual Scarecrow Festival that was sponsored by Basin State Bank. 1st Place - $125.00 Due to the weather bestowing great moisture that was needed for the area causing the Scarecrows to into a mini-hibernation on the day of the event, the People's Choice Award will be announced within a week. Please make sure you stop by the Basin State Bank and cast your vote!
Many folks, young and old participated in this yearly event, including local businesses such as the Pump Bar and the Waterhole Saloon who provided a nice Chili Feed.
Locals who came out and braved the weather also enjoyed the Halloween Trivia Contest that was held at both locations during the event. It is still undecided if they liked the questions better then the prizes as the contest was pretty competitive for those who participated.
The judges did a fine job of choosing the winners of the Scarecrow entries, although all judges stated it was hard to choose because there were so many good entries yet again this year.
