The Judith Arts Society welcomes you to our 2022-2023 Performing Arts Season! We have dedicated this season to our dear friend and long-time JAS board member, Norma Zimmer, who lost her battle with cancer in May. She was completely onboard with the new season and will be sorely missed.
We will kick off our four-performance series with “Pub Night” on Friday, September 23, 2022, at 6:30 p.m. in the Utica Community Center. We are pleased to bring Pollo Loco to the Utica stage. Pollo Loco (Poy-o-Loco), Spanish for Chicken Crazy, have been together since 1990, receiving acclaim for their pure harmonies and warm western sound. Their unique blend of classic and original music, combined with just the right touch of homespun humor, is sure to delight young and old. The Judith Arts Board and friends will provide complimentary hors d’oeuvres (complimentary food of some sort) and a no-host bar featuring wine and ale selections, beginning at 6:30. This evening has become a popular local event, so gather your friends and join us for some great entertainment. Our second performance will be held on Sunday, November 13, 2022, at the Hobson School multipurpose room, 4 p.m. Vocalist Kathy Kaefer, along with a piano accompanist, will present “Kiss Me Once: Stories from the Homefront.” Her show immortalizes the brave men and women of “The Greatest Generation” in a celebration of the songs that inspired them to greatness. PLEASE NOTE: The third performance will be held on Friday, February 10, 2023, at 6 p.m. at the Hobson School multipurpose room. The Wardens were originally slated for March 2020 but had to be cancelled due to the pandemic. This Rocky Mountain-based band’s stories and songs rise from the very land they’ve protected as Canadian national park wardens. Their mountain music – blending folk, roots and western styles – reflects Canada’s protected wilderness areas. Our final performance of the season will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023, at 4 p.m. in Hobson and features Jaca. A duo ensemble that reaches beyond the bounds of classical music, Jaca is comprised of clarinetist Wesley Ferreira and guitarist Jaxon Williams. These musicians combine classical and world music to bring an adventurous, passionate and completely original musical style to the stage. Tickets are now available for the season, the price in these inflationary times still only $35 per person. Thank You … You are so appreciated!
